What is the Saskatchewan Nominee Program (SINP)?

This program and its streams are designed by the Saskatchewan Government as pathways for foreign nationals seeking permanent residency in Canada. It has a very broad stream to which applicants can choose from depending on their skills, education and experience to fill Saskatchewan’s labour shortages and to help improve the province’s economy. Take note that successful applicants from these streams will receive an official provincial nomination which they can use to apply for a permanent residency in Canada.

this category enables the Saskatchewan government to qualify skilled workers who want to work and live in the province. Under this category are three streams:

Saskatchewan Express Entry
Candidates with high skilled work experience in an occupation not listed on the SINP Excluded Occupation List may apply to this stream.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be registered in the federal Express Entry pool
  • Must have at least one-year post-secondary diploma
  • Work experience under the NOC code of 0, A or B as required by Express Entry
  • Language Proficiency with a passing score of CLB 7 or as required by Express Entry
  • Meet the settlement fund requirements as determined by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)

Saskatchewan Employment Offer
Open to all candidates who have an offer of employment from a Saskatchewan employer.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid job offer from a Saskatchewan employer with a NOC Skill Level of 0, A or B
  • Language Proficiency with a passing score of CLB 4 or higher
  • At least 12 months of full-time work experience within 10 years in the same occupation related to the job offer. (Note: If the occupation is regulated in Saskatchewan, applicants must have a valid certification to perform the profession.)
  • Meet the settlement fund requirements as determined by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)

Saskatchewan Occupations In-Demand
This stream is offered by the Saskatchewan government to candidates who have experience in one of the high-demand occupations in the province and has a score high enough on the SINP Points Assessment Grid.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Language Proficiency with a passing score of CLB 4 or higher
  • Must have at least one-year post-secondary diploma
  • One-year work experience under the NOC code of 0, A or B as required by Express Entry
  • Meet the settlement fund requirements as determined by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)

This program encompasses five immigration streams for foreign nationals who are already working for a Saskatchewan employer holding a valid job offer for permanent employment.

Saskatchewan Existing Work Permit
Candidates with an offer of employment working for the same employer for six months can apply to this stream.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid job offer from a Saskatchewan employer with a NOC Skill Level of 0, A or B supported by a Letter of Offer from the employer. (Note: No language proficiency requirement needed when candidate falls under this requirement)
  • At least 6 months of full-time work experience in the same occupation related to the job offer

Saskatchewan Health Professionals
This stream focuses in hiring doctors, nurses, and other health care professionals already practicing their profession in the province with a job offer to continue their employment. It has three sub-streams depending on your profession.

  • Physicians: all licensed physicians already practicing full-time medicine in health authorities in the province holding a job offer to continue their employment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 6 months of full-time work experience from a health authority in Saskatchewan with a valid work permit in the same occupation related to the job offer
  • Must be at NOC Code 3111 or 3112
  • Valid job offer from a Saskatchewan employer and a Job Approval Letter from SINP
  • Holds a proper license to practice medicine in Saskatchewan
  • Education must be equivalent to a Canadian medical degree; must also demonstrate proper licensing from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CoPSS)
  • Nurses: this substream is open to all licensed and registered nurses already working in a provincial health authority in the province. They must also have a full-time job offer to continue their profession.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 6 months of full-time work experience from a health authority in Saskatchewan with a valid work permit in the same occupation related to the job offer
  • Must be under NOC Code for licensed or registered nurses
  • Valid job offer from a Saskatchewan employer and a Job Approval Letter from SINP
  • Education must be equivalent to a Canadian nursing degree; must also demonstrate proper licensing from one of the following:
    – Saskatchewan Association of Licensed Practical Nurses (SALPN)
    – Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan (RPNAS)
    – Saskatchewan Registered Nurses’ Association (SRNA)
  • Other Health Professionals: workers in the healthcare sectors already working in Saskatchewan and have a full-time job offer to continue their employment in the province can apply to this sub-stream.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 6 months of full-time work experience from a health authority in Saskatchewan with a valid work permit in the same occupation related to the job offer
  • Must be in the healthcare sector in an occupation at National Occupational Classification (NOC) Skill Level 0, A, B, or C
  • Valid job offer from a Saskatchewan employer with a NOC Skill Level of 0, A or B supported by a Letter of Offer from the employer. (Note: No language proficiency requirement needed when candidate falls under this requirement)
  • Must have at least one-year post-secondary diploma

Hospitality Sector Project
Foreign workers in the hospitality sector can apply to this stream provided that they have an offer of full-time employment to continue their occupation.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 6 months of full-time work experience from a Saskatchewan employer with a valid work permit in the same in-demand occupation related to the job offer
  • Valid job offer from a Saskatchewan employer supported by a Letter of Offer from the employer. (Note: No language proficiency requirement needed when candidate falls under this requirement)
  • Language Proficiency with a passing score of CLB 4 or higher
  • Must have at least a Canadian high school diploma or a foreign equivalent

Saskatchewan Students
This program is offered to all fresh international graduates from a Canadian educational institution with at least 6 months of working experience in the province.

REQUIREMENTS: (FOR STUDENTS WHO GRADUATED FROM A SCHOOL IN SASKATCHEWAN):

  • A certificate, diploma, or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in the province
  • Must have at least 6 months of full-time, paid work experience in Saskatchewan
  • Valid job offer from a Saskatchewan employer supported by a Letter of Offer from the employer with a NOC Skill Level of 0, A or B; or a valid job offer from a Saskatchewan employer supported by a Letter of Offer from the employer with a designated trade occupation of NOC Codes beginning with 72, 73, 82, 92, 632, or 633, or; a valid job offer related to a person’s field of study which requires post-secondary education. (Note: No language proficiency requirement needed when candidate falls under this requirement)
  • Language Proficiency with a passing score of CLB 4 or higher
  • Must have at least one-year post-secondary diploma

REQUIREMENTS: (FOR STUDENTS WHO GRADUATED FROM A SCHOOL IN CANADA OUTSIDE SASKATCHEWAN):

  • Must have at least 6 months of full-time, paid work experience in Saskatchewan
  • Valid job offer from a Saskatchewan employer supported by a Letter of Offer from the employer with a NOC Skill Level of 0, A or B; or a valid job offer from a Saskatchewan employer supported by a Letter of Offer from the employer with a designated trade occupation of NOC Codes beginning with 72, 73, 82, 92, 632, or 633, or; a valid job offer related to a person’s field of study which requires post-secondary education. (Note: No language proficiency requirement needed when candidate falls under this requirement)
  • Language Proficiency with a passing score of CLB 4 or higher
  • A certificate, diploma, or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution other than Saskatchewan

Farm Owner and Operator
Open to all foreign nationals who aspire to move to Saskatchewan and have experience in farming, a considerable capital for investing in farming operation, and plans to buy and run a farm in Saskatchewan.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in Farm Operation Knowledge
  • Personal Net Worth of $ 300,000 and Good Faith Deposit of $75,000 CAD

Foreign nationals who want to put up or partner in a business, and foreign nationals who wants to run a farm in and live in Saskatchewan falls under this category. Candidates who wanted to be eligible in nomination for this category must first meet the criteria of SINP.
This stream has three categories, namely:

Saskatchewan Entrepreneur
Foreign nationals who aspire to obtain or partner in a business and be able to manage it while residing in Saskatchewan can apply to this program.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have at least three (3) years Business Management or Entrepreneurial experience
  • Personal Net Worth of $500,000 CAD and Investment of $200,000 – $ 500,000 CAD (minimum investment depends on the location of the proposed business)

International Graduate Entrepreneur
International students who graduated from a Saskatchewan Institution and aspire to become an entrepreneur can apply to this program. Through this program, the applicant together with their family may start and obtain or partner in a business located in Saskatchewan.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Applicant must be at least 21 years old
  • Must have at least a 2-year diploma or complete full-time post-secondary degree from an eligible Saskatchewan institution
  • Must have a valid post-graduate work permit
  • A resident of Saskatchewan during the academic program
  • Language Proficiency with a passing score of CLB 4 or higher
