REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be registered in the federal Express Entry pool
  • Valid job offer from an eligible Northwest Territories employer
  • Language proficiency with a passing score of CLB level 6 or higher for NOC 0 and A; and CLB 5 or higher for NOC B
  • An education or specialization specific and related to the job offer
  • At least one (1) year work experience related to the job offer that they received

Critical Impact Worker
This stream is open to all foreign nationals that have a semi-skilled or unskilled occupational experience in Northern Canada.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid job offer from an NT employer
  • Language Proficiency with a passing score of CLB 4 or higher
  • An education or specialization specific and related to the job offer
  • Employed with a Northwest Territories employer for at least six (6) months

Northwest Territories Skilled Workers
To fill in the labor shortage for skilled workers, foreign nationals who intend to permanently resettle in Northwest Territories may apply to this stream.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid job offer from an NT employer
  • Language Proficiency with a passing score of CLB 4 or higher for NOC 0 and A; and CLB 5 or higher for NOC B
  • An education or specialization specific and related to the job offer
  • Work experience related to the job offer that they received

Entrepreneurs and business owners who intend to put up a new business in the Northwest Territories falls under this category.

Northwest Territories Entrepreneur
Foreign nationals that has experience in business and want to settle, establish, purchase or invest in the Northwest Territories may apply under this category.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Language Proficiency with a passing score of CLB 4 or higher
  • A certification needed to fulfill the business plan submitted
  • Investment amount of $300,000 CAD for starting or buying business in Yellowknife; and $150,000 CAD if outside of Yellowknife
  • Personal Net Worth of $500,000 CAD for starting or buying business in Yellowknife; and $250,000 CAD if outside of Yellowknife
