One of Canada’s four Atlantic Provinces is New Brunswick and is also one of the country’s smaller province. New Brunswick is a unique and maritime province located in the east-central coast of Canada. Summer in the province gets pretty warm and humid but gets very cold during winter. Located at the center of the province is Fredericton which is the provinces’ capital city. Majority of jobs in the city are related to public sector and a growing number of commercial sectors are IT; one of the best universities in the province is also located in Fredericton city. The province’s capital is also known as the “City at the Edge of Nature” because of its 88 km of hiking trails as well as Saint John River meandering through the city.

What is the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP)?

Just like other provinces in Canada, the government of New Brunswick has several immigration programs that eligible candidates can apply to.

They operate five immigration streams:

Skilled Worker with Employer Support
Interested applicants for this stream must have a valid job offer from an employer in New Brunswick and aspires to live in the province.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid job offer from an NB employer with a NOC skill level 0, A or B; or NOC skill level C or D with a skill type 1, 3, 7, 8 or 9
  • Language Proficiency with a passing score of CLB 4 or higher
  • Must have an international equivalent of a High School diploma
  • Work experience related to the job offer
  • Between the age of 22 and 40 years old on the day the application is received

Skilled Worker with Family Support (closed)
This is open to all candidates with a high-skilled occupation and already has a family member living in New Brunswick.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proof that a relative is presently living in New Brunswick
  • Language Proficiency with a passing score of CLB 5 or higher
  • Completed at least two-year post-secondary degree or diploma
  • At least one (1) year full time work experience under NOC skill level 0, A or B; or NOC skill level C or D with a skill type 1, 3, 7, 8 or 9

Post-Graduate Entrepreneurial Stream
Open to all foreign nationals who are graduates of a post-secondary school in New Brunswick and has established successful business within the province.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A graduate of a Nova Scotia university or college with a minimum of two years full time study
  • Language Proficiency with a passing score of CLB 7 or higher
  • Completed at least two-year post-secondary degree or diploma
  • Must have owned and managed a Nova Scotia business for at least 12 months
  • Between the age of 22 and 40 years old on the day the application is received

Entrepreneurial Stream
Foreign nationals who have a business or has a business manager experience that aspires to live in New Brunswick falls may apply to this category.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Language Proficiency with a passing score of CLB 5
  • Completed at least two-year post-secondary degree or diploma
  • Three-year experience in business ownership or management
  • An investment of $250,000 CAD and Personal Networth of 600,00 CAD
  • Between the age of 22 and 55 years old on the day the application is received

Express Entry Labour Market Stream
High skilled foreign workers who are willing and able contribute to the economy of New Brunswick and intends to live in the province can apply to this stream.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be registered in the federal Express Entry pool
  • Language Proficiency with a passing score of CLB 7
  • Must have an international equivalent of a High School diploma
  • At least one (1) year full time continuous work experience under NOC skill level 0, A or B
  • Between the age of 22 and 55 years old on the day the application is received
  • Score of at least 67 points on the stream’s selection factors
  • Eligible to submit an Expression of Interest
  • Meet the settlement fund requirements as determined by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)

2. Make sure you complete your profile.
3. Create an Expression of Interest.
