What is the Nova Scotia Provincial Nominee Program (NSPNP)?
Nova Scotia has a very broad and unique immigration program to reach its goal to attracting newcomers or retain their present immigrants so they may fill the gaps in their workforce, at the same time become contributors to their local economy and community.
The province has the following immigration streams:

Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry
As with other PNPs of Canada, this program is open to all highly skilled individuals and newcomers that are willing to join and make notable contributions in Nova Scotia. It is also aligned with the federal Express Entry immigration system, making your application for permanent residency prioritized and expedited. This program has two categories:
- Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry Category A
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be registered in the federal Express Entry pool
- Valid job offer from an NS employer with a NOC code of 0, A or B
- Language Proficiency with a passing score of CLB 7 or higher
- Must score at least 67 points on the province’s points assessment grid
- Meet the settlement fund requirements as determined by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)
- Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry Category B
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be registered in the federal Express Entry pool
- Language Proficiency with a passing score of CLB 7 or higher
- At least one-year experience in an occupation included in the In-Demand Occupation List of Nova Scotia
- Meet the settlement fund requirements as determined by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)

Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry
Compared to NS Demand: Express Entry, this program is for candidates who have at least one year of work experience in Nova Scotia in a high skilled occupation. It is also aligned with the federal Express Entry immigration system, making your application for permanent residency prioritized and expedited.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be registered in the federal Express Entry pool
- At least 12 months of full-time work experience or an equivalent amount in part- time experience from an NS employer with a NOC code of 0, A or B
- Language Proficiency with a passing score of CLB 7 or higher
- With a minimum level education of High School of higher

Nova Scotia Skilled Worker
This program is Nova Scotia’s way to recruit foreign workers and international graduates who recently graduated from skills needed by the NS government. If a candidate receives a job offer from an NS employer, they may already submit an application to this stream.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid job offer from an NS employer with a NOC code of 0, A or B. If the job offer is NOC Skill Level C or D, the candidate must have already been working with the employer for at least 6 months. (Employer must be a permanent residence in Nova Scotia and in active operation over the previous two years.)
- Language Proficiency with a passing score of CLB 5 or higher; NOC Skill Level C or D must demonstrate test results at CLB level 4
- Must have a Canadian high school diploma or international equivalent
- At least 12 months of full-time work experience related to the job offer received
- Meet the settlement fund requirements as determined by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)

Nova Scotia Physician
In pursuit of this province to improve their healthcare system, they are inviting physicians who have secured a valid job offer from an eligible health sector employer in NS.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid job offer either from the Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) or the IWK Health Centre; must be for a position at NOC code 3111 (specialist physician) or 3112 (general practitioner or family physician)
- With educational/medical credentials, language proficiency, and eligibility for licensing in Nova Scotia and a valid Medical License

Nova Scotia Entrepreneur
This province is giving experienced business owners and entrepreneurs the opportunity to invest in an NS business that they themselves will manage.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Language Proficiency with a passing score of CLB 5 or higher
- Minimum of 3 years business ownership or 5 years senior business management
- Personal net worth of $600,000 CAD and investment of $150,000 CAD

Nova Scotia International Graduate Entrepreneur
Open to all recent graduates of Nova Scotia universities and colleges intending to settle permanently in NS who also happened to start or buy an NS business operating for at least one year.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A graduate of a Nova Scotia university or college with a minimum of two years full time study
- Must have owned and managed a Nova Scotia business for at least 12 months and have a one-third ownership of the business
- Must currently be residing in Nova Scotia with a valid post-graduation work permit
- Language Proficiency with a passing score of CLB 7 or higher

Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities
This program allows Express Entry candidates with work experience in high-demand positions like educators, teachers and instructors (NOC 4212) as of August 2018.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be registered in the federal Express Entry pool
- High French-language proficiency or minimum language proficiency
- At least a High School graduate or any education level as required by the Express Entry program
- Must meet the minimum work experience requirements of the Express Entry program

Nova Scotia Occupations In Demand
This provincial immigration stream gives candidates with a valid job offer from an NS employer in an in-demand field.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid job offer either from a Nova Scotia employer from NOC 3413 (nurse aides, orderlies and patient service associates) or NOC 7511 (transport truck drivers)
- Language Proficiency with a passing score of CLB 4 or higher
- At least a High School graduate
- With at least one year work experience related to the job offer
