What is the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP)?
This program gives eligible individuals the opportunity to become a candidate for a Permanent Residency status in Alberta. Take note that successful applicants from these streams will receive an official provincial nomination which they can use to apply for a permanent residency in Canada.
AINP is divided among three categories:

Alberta Opportunity Stream
A stream launched last June 2018, this program is open to all foreign nationals who are employed full-time in Alberta bearing an official job offer from an Alberta employer.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)
- A valid LMIA-exemption
- A Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) holder with an occupation related to their field of study in Alberta
- A bona fide full-time job offer from their current Alberta employer to continue work in their current occupation
- Language Proficiency with a passing score of CLB 5 for occupations under a NOC code of 0, A or B and a Language Proficiency with a passing score of CLB 4 under NOC Skill Levels C or D. NOC Code 3413 (nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates) must achieve a minimum language test score of CLB 7 for each English language skill, or NCLC 7 for each French language skill
- At least a High School graduate in their country of origin
- A minimum of 12-months full-time work experience in their current occupation in Alberta within the last 18 months; or a minimum of 24-months full-time work experience in their current occupation in the last 30 months (can be obtained in Canada and/or abroad); or a minimum of 6 months of full-time work experience in their current occupation in Alberta within the last 18 months related to their Alberta education for Post-Graduation Work Permit holders

Alberta Express Entry Stream
Open to all candidates in the Express Entry pool to be invited by the Alberta province to apply for nomination. This means that if you have an existing Express Entry profile, you are qualified to take part of this program.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)
- A valid LMIA-exemption
- A Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) holder with an occupation related to their field of study in Alberta
- A bona fide full-time job offer from their current Alberta employer to continue work in their current occupation

Self-Employed Farmer Stream
If you have an extensive experience in owning and/or operating a farm and have the financial resources to establish and operate a farm in Alberta, this stream is for you. You must first consult your intentions with the Alberta government to present your proposal.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must prove that the candidate has the farm management skills required to successfully operate a farm in Alberta
- Business plan proposal for the farming business that you intend to establish
- Financial documents of an existing farming business with proof of education, training, and work experience
related to farm management - Minimum net work of at least $500,000 CAD and an investment of a minimum of $500 CAD
Note: Alberta reserves the right to request applicants to demonstrate that they have the ability to invest more than the minimum.

3. Meet the language test requirement per stream.

5. AINP requires all documents to be original copies. Mail your application and complete documents by registered mail or courier to:

You will then receive a confirmation that your application has been received by the AINP
6. An officer from the AINP will contact you by email or phone to assess your application and to inform you if you need further documentation.
7. Once your application has been approved, you will then become a Provincial Nominee and AINP will send your package via email.
