Ontario’s Masters and PhD Graduate Streams: Invitations to Apply for Permanent Residence

On August 1, 2023, Ontario issued invitations to potential candidates in the Expression of Interest (EOI) system pool who may qualify for the Masters Graduate and PhD Graduate streams. These streams offer an excellent opportunity for international students with advanced degrees to apply for permanent residence in Ontario, Canada. Masters Graduate Stream Invitation

In the first draw, invitations were issued to potential candidates in the EOI pool who met the eligibility criteria for the Masters Graduate stream. To receive an invitation, candidates needed to have a minimum score of 48 or above. PhD Graduate Stream Invitation

In a separate draw, invitations were issued to potential candidates who may qualify for the PhD Graduate stream. Applying to the Graduate Streams

If you received an invitation to apply for either the Masters Graduate or PhD Graduate stream on August 1, 2023, you can proceed with the application process. Here are the steps you need to follow:

Review Eligibility Requirements: Before applying, carefully review the respective stream pages for the Masters Graduate and PhD Graduate streams on the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) website. Ensure that you meet all the specified requirements.

Document Checklists: Access the document checklists provided for the Masters Graduate or PhD Graduate streams and make sure you have all the mandatory documents ready for the application process.

Log in to OINP e-Filing Portal: To start your application, log in to the OINP e-Filing Portal using your newly created file number. The file number will have the prefix NMAS for Masters Graduate stream applicants and NPHD for PhD Graduate stream applicants.

Note about File Numbers: It’s important to understand that your new application file number is different from your EOI file number. The EOI file number (EOI-NMAS-XXXXXX or EOI-NPHD-XXXXXX) will be greyed out, but this is not an error. The new file number is what you will use for your application.
