In the latest British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) draw held on July 25, 2023, the province issued over 225 invitations to eligible candidates to apply for permanent residency (PR). These targeted draws aimed to address labor market demands and attract skilled individuals from various sectors to support the province’s economic growth and development. The draw comprised invitations from both the general pool, including the 35 Tech occupations, and specific occupations within the healthcare and education sectors.

175 Invitations for General Draw

The general draw accounted for 175 invitations and encompassed profiles from all BC PNP Skills Immigration streams, as well as the Express Entry streams. The pool included individuals from diverse occupational backgrounds, reflecting the province’s commitment to welcoming talent from various sectors and industries. Candidates who received invitations in this draw demonstrated a high level of qualification and experience that aligned with British Columbia’s economic needs.

30 Invitations Targeted at Early Childhood Educators

To address the growing demand in the education sector, particularly in early childhood education, 30 invitations were sent specifically to profiles with experience as Early Childhood Educators and assistants (NOC 42202). British Columbia recognizes the importance of providing quality education and care for its youngest residents and is actively seeking skilled professionals to fill these crucial roles.

20 Invitations for Healthcare-Related Occupations

In recognition of the significant role healthcare professionals play in the well-being of its residents, British Columbia issued 20 invitations targeting profiles in 39 healthcare-related occupations. The province places a high priority on healthcare services and aims to bolster its healthcare workforce with qualified individuals who possess the necessary expertise and dedication to provide exceptional patient care.

Special Focus on Veterinarians and Animal Health Technologists

British Columbia is also acknowledging the importance of the veterinary field by issuing a limited number of invitations for Veterinarians (NOC 31103) and Animal Health Technologists (NOC 32104). With a commitment to the health and welfare of animals, the province seeks to attract individuals with expertise in veterinary medicine to support its agricultural and companion animal industries.

Cutoff Score and Draw Comparisons

The cutoff score for the July 25 draw remained the same as the previous draw held on July 11. This consistency suggests that the province is actively seeking candidates with specific qualifications and experience, and the score requirement reflects the current labor market needs.

The latest BC PNP draw in July 2023 has demonstrated the province’s proactive approach to address its economic and social priorities by inviting over 225 skilled candidates to apply for permanent residency. The draws, including general invitations and targeted draws for specific occupations in the tech, education, healthcare, and veterinary sectors, emphasize British Columbia’s commitment to attracting qualified individuals who can contribute to the province’s growth and development.
