BC PNP Draw: 211 Invitations Sent, Including Targeted Occupations
Date: June 13, 2023
In the latest British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) draw held on June 13, 2023, a total of 211 invitations to apply for permanent residency (PR) were issued. This draw encompassed both general and targeted categories, offering opportunities to candidates from various occupations.
Here are the key details:
General Draw: Out of the 211 invitations, 170 were issued in the general draw, which considered all profiles, including those in the tech occupations. These invitations were extended to skilled workers across different sectors, reflecting BC PNP’s commitment to attracting a diverse range of talent to the province.
Targeted Draws: In addition to the general draw, BC PNP also conducted targeted draws to address specific labor market needs. The following invitations were issued in targeted categories:
Early Childhood Educator and Assistants: A total of 23 invitations were targeted at profiles with experience as Early Childhood Educators and assistants (NOC 42202). This focus on early childhood education demonstrates BC PNP’s effort to bolster the province’s education sector and provide quality care for young children.
Healthcare-related Occupations: A further 18 invitations were specifically targeted at profiles in 39 healthcare-related occupations. This initiative aims to meet the growing demand for skilled healthcare professionals in British Columbia, ensuring the well-being and welfare of its residents.
Cutoff Score: The cutoff score remained the same across all categories in comparison to the previous BC PNP general draw, except for a 2-point increase in the Entry Level and Semi-Skilled stream. The cutoff score is a determining factor for receiving an invitation, and candidates with scores above the specified threshold were invited to apply for PR.
British Columbia continues to prioritize the attraction of skilled workers across various industries, including the thriving technology sector. By conducting targeted draws in specific occupations and sectors, BC PNP aligns its immigration efforts with the province’s economic and societal needs, fostering growth and diversity.
