Latest BC PNP Draw of 2023 Sends Out Over 171 ITAs for Permanent Residency

On May 2, 2023, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) held its latest draw and sent out over 171 invitations to apply (ITA) for permanent residency (PR). The BC PNP is designed to attract and retain foreign workers with the skills and experience needed to fill labor market gaps in the province.

The latest draw targeted profiles in all occupations, including tech occupations, and sent out 133 ITAs under the five streams of the BC PNP: Skilled Worker, Skilled Worker – EEBC option, International Graduate, International Graduate – EEBC option, and Entry Level and Semi-Skilled. The cutoff scores for each stream were as follows: 104 for Skilled Worker and Skilled Worker – EEBC option, 107 for International Graduate and International Graduate – EEBC option, and 85 for Entry Level and Semi-Skilled.

In addition to the general draw, the BC PNP issued more than 38 ITAs in a targeted draw for Early Childhood Educators, other priorities, and Healthcare occupations. The cutoff score for this draw was 60, and the ITAs were distributed as follows:

  • 22 for Skilled Worker, International Graduate (including EEBC option)
  • 60 targeted at NOC 42202 – Childcare: Early childhood educators and assistants
  • 16 for Skilled Worker, International Graduate (including EEBC option)
  • 60 targeted at Healthcare NOCs/occupations
  • <5 for Skilled Worker, International Graduate (including EEBC option)
  • 60 targeted at NOCs 31103 and 32104 (Other priority occupations)

To be eligible for the BC PNP, candidates must first create a profile and be assessed against the criteria of the stream(s) they are interested in. The BC PNP streams have different eligibility requirements, which can be found on the official BC PNP website.
