IEC Update: Round Of Invitations Sent Almost 1,000 Invites
The 12th batch of invitations for IEC 2023 (International Experience Canada) was responsible for sending out nearly 900 invitations across three categories during the week ending March 31.
The International Experience Canada 2023 program offers options such as Working Holiday visas, Young Professional visas, and International Co-op visas.
Since more than 75% of the IEC 2023 limit has already been reached, the IEC is currently in the process of reducing the number of invitations it extends.
More than two hundred invitations were sent to potential IEC 2023 Young Professionals candidates.
In addition, approximately 162 candidates were invited to apply for the International Co-op (internship) category.
The IRCC published its most recent official processing update on March 29. This update provided information regarding the current IEC season’s processing time, which is four weeks.
WHAT IS IEC?
International Experience Canada (IEC) is a program that allows young adults from around the world to work and travel in Canada for a specified period of time. The program is designed to help participants gain international work experience and to promote cultural exchange between Canada and other countries.
IEC is open to citizens of countries that have a bilateral youth mobility arrangement with Canada, and who are between the ages of 18 and 35 (depending on the specific arrangement). Participants can apply for one of three categories: Working Holiday, Young Professional, or International Co-op. Each category has its own eligibility requirements and restrictions, and participants must meet the criteria for the category they apply for.
The program is managed by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), and applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. The number of spots available each year varies by country and category, and the program can be highly competitive, with some countries filling up their quotas within minutes of the application period opening.
