IRCC Update: The New Canada Immigration Pathway

 In News

Today, March 27, 2023, the Honorable Sean Fraser announces a new immigration route to Canada.

After 11:30 a.m. EST, the minister delivers a keynote address and unveils a new permanent residency (PR) pathway at the Empire Club of Canada in Toronto.

Fraser discussed the immigration policies of Canada with non-governmental organizations, business leaders, and civil society organizations.

Canada launches the Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot (EMPP) to assist businesses in employing qualified refugees and other displaced individuals.

Canada is incorporating a federal route into the EMPP.

Canada has ambitious EMPP goals to address labor shortages in the fields of healthcare, skilled trades, and information technology.

In the coming years, Canada will add 2,000 refugees and displaced individuals.

Due to uniform eligibility requirements and one application, the new federal immigration program will be simplified and expedited.

Within six months, the majority of EMPP applicants can travel to Canada and begin working.

This summer, this new pathway will supplement EMPP pathways.

The new federal pathway will provide businesses with increased opportunities to hire teachers, tourism and hospitality workers, truck and delivery service drivers, software engineers, web designers, mechanical and electrical engineers, and long-term care aides.

Candidates for the EMPP can resume their careers and lives with their families in Canada while providing businesses with an alternative means to meet labor market demands.
