What is AAIP PROGRAM?

The AAIP program, or the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT) Advantage Immigration Program, is a program designed to help internationally trained tradespeople and technicians immigrate to Alberta, Canada. The program is aimed at individuals who have experience and training in a skilled trade or technology field, but who may not meet the requirements for other immigration programs, such as the Federal Skilled Worker Program.

The AAIP program offers a pathway to permanent residency for eligible candidates who have been working in Alberta for at least six months in a skilled trade or technology occupation. The program has two streams: the Compulsory and Optional Trades Stream, and the Engineering Occupations Stream.

The Compulsory and Optional Trades Stream is for candidates who have experience and training in a trade that is considered “compulsory” or “optional” in Alberta. These include trades such as electricians, plumbers, and welders. To be eligible for this stream, candidates must have a job offer from an Alberta employer, meet the minimum language requirements, and have the necessary education and training to perform the job.

The Engineering Occupations Stream is for candidates who have experience and training in an engineering or technology occupation, such as civil engineering, computer engineering, or information technology. To be eligible for this stream, candidates must have a job offer from an Alberta employer, meet the minimum language requirements, and have the necessary education and training to perform the job.

Candidates who are approved for the AAIP program will be granted a work permit and will be able to work and live in Alberta while they complete their apprenticeship training. After completing their training, candidates may be eligible to apply for permanent residency in Canada through the Provincial Nominee Program.

Overall, the AAIP program is an excellent option for skilled tradespeople and technicians who want to immigrate to Alberta, Canada, but who may not meet the requirements for other immigration programs. The program offers a pathway to permanent residency and the opportunity to work and live in one of Canada’s most prosperous and beautiful provinces.
