Good News: IEC Program Welcomes International Youth to Canada

International youth bring valuable skills to Canada’s economy when they come to work and live here.
Young people from other countries who come to Canada to gain work and life experience enrich the country’s economy by bringing new perspectives and insights to the workforce. As a result of their experiences working and traveling abroad, Canadian youth return home with a broader understanding of the world.

Applying for the (IEC)
International youth who are interested in gaining work and travel experience in Canada can apply for the upcoming International Experience Canada (IEC) season, as announced today by the Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship.
Those who have previously been added to the IEC pool will start receiving invitations to submit their work permit applications.

90,000 young people.
To nearly 90,000 young people from around the world, Canada will open this door this year, as of December 1, 2022.
With this growth, it will be easier for businesses in Canada to hire the people they need to meet demand.

The Honourable Randy Boissonnault, Minister of Tourism of Canada said and we quote. “IEC is now open for nearly 90,000 international youth looking to gain valuable work and life experiences in Canada. This program brings a diverse range of skills and perspectives to our workforce, while also helping to address labour shortages in Canada’s tourism industry. At the same time, it provides Canadian youth with the opportunity to gain valuable work and life experiences abroad and to return home with an international perspective. IEC is a fantastic opportunity for both Canada’s tourism industry and the personal and professional development of young leaders at home and abroad.”

What is IEC?
The International Experience Canada (IEC) program is a two-way exchange that provides young people from around the world with the opportunity to live, work, and travel in Canada.

IEC has 3 participation categories : Working holiday, International Co-op(Internship) and Young professionals.

Canada has a long history of encouraging young people from all over the world to experience the world by providing funding, visas, and other resources for them to do so.

Through IEC, young people are able to broaden their understanding of the world, learn new languages and cultures, and increase their employability.
