Immigrants now make up their largest-ever share of Canada’s total population (23%). Canada has set a record-high immigration target for 2023. Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) is set to overtake Express Entry as the top immigration pathway. The PNP will help Canada address specific labor market needs and gaps. Canada will remain committed to family reunification this year, 2023.

The PGP, combined with other immigration pathways, will look to welcome more than 28,000 newcomers this year. Canada’s off-campus work hours for international students will be temporarily lifted from 2022-2023.
