Canada announced the 2023-2025 immigration levels plan
On November 1, the Canadian government released its 2023–2025 Immigration Levels Plan. The plan is aimed at addressing critical labor market shortages, especially in key sectors such as health care, skilled trades, manufacturing, and technology.
In 2022, IRCC is expected to welcome over 430,000 immigrants which is 25,000 newcomers more than it was last year. In 2023, this target will rise to 465,000 new permanent residents. In 2024, Canada will aim to welcome an additional 485,000 immigrants and in 2025 another 500,000.

“Last year, we welcomed the most newcomers in a single year in our history. This year’s immigration levels plan will help businesses find the workers they need, set Canada on a path that will contribute to our long-term success, and allow us to make good on key commitments to vulnerable people fleeing violence, war, and persecution.” – The Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship
