Saskatchewan Launches A New SINP Pathway That Targets Highly Skilled Tech Talent
March 7, 2022 – Saskatchewan Government released its new Tech Talent Pathway that is under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). This new pathway aims to attract highly skilled technology professionals to come to the province. Through this stream, Saskatchewan will be able to facilitate and expedite the permanent immigration of all tech workers that are already working in Saskatchewan, along with those who have been recruited outside of Canada.
This Tech Talent Pathway will help support Saskatchewan’s flourishing tech sector by toning down the critical labor shortage. The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program is known as the leading immigration program for those individuals who wish to move and live in Saskatchewan. Saskatchewan employers who were in the innovation sectors will be able to attract more highly skilled talents that will help support in expanding the sector and increase Saskatchewan’s global competitiveness.
To be eligible in this new Tech Talent Pathway, applicants must have:
- A post-secondary education
- An employer-specific SINP Job Approval Letter coming from any eligible technology sector occupation
- At least 12 months or one-year work experience in that occupation in the past five years; or have been working in Saskatchewan for six months
- If the applicant is not working in Saskatchewan upon applying, a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of level 5 or CLB level 7 if the applicant is applying for Express Entry
- Eligibility for Saskatchewan professional licensing
