Quebec Updated Its List of Occupations Eligible For Facilitated LMIA
Once a year, the Quebec Ministry of Immigration releases an updated list of occupations for employers who wish to hire temporary foreign workers benefits the most from this facilitated Labour Market Impact Assessment process. This list has the purpose of accelerating the arrival of temporary foreign workers who are having a hard time finding either Canadian or permanent resident workers to fill in the job vacancies.
Recently Quebec updated its lust for in-demand occupations that benefit from facilitated processing through its LMIA process. Compared to last year, the new list has expanded from 181 occupations to 228 occupations eligible for facilitated processing. This new list covers all of Quebec and also takes into account the labor needs of all regions. The new list that was released is said to be effective immediately. To allow the employer or their representatives to have the applications submitted under last year’s list reviewed, the immigration department allotted a 30-day transition period.
