Canada Is Set To Launch A New Online Immigration Application Tracker
It was earlier this week that Immigration Minister Sean Fraser announced that Canada has released a new online portal that can help track the immigration application of spousal and child sponsorship which is part of an effort to help modernize the Canadian immigration system. This said tracker can be found online and is currently open only for individuals who are applying for spousal, common-law, and dependent child sponsorship. Note that this tracker is available for both applicants and their representatives.
It was mentioned by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada that anytime the online form that the tracker’s information is subject to change before the IRCC officers make their final decision. In addition to this, it is said that you may experience some delays or differences between the information that is shown in the tracker and the actual progress of sponsorship applications.
This new application is created as the government wants to expand its online applications to more future immigrants in the summer of this year. The purpose of Canada’s transition to more online application processes is to help the immigration department minimize its processing delays connected with the paper applications as well as the pandemic. Through these types of efforts, the government said that this allowed the standard processing time for new spousal sponsorship applicants to return back to the standard12 months processing period.
As mentioned in the previous statements from the immigration, Canada is currently experiencing a backlog in its immigration applications across all lines of business. There were a total of 54,683 spousal sponsorship applicants while another 8,848 children and other family class applicants are all waiting for a decision as of December 2021.
