Canadian Provinces Continues To Invite Immigration Candidates for 2022

 In News

The Province of Alberta released the details of its recent draw that was held on January 18, 2022. Through the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) the province invited a total of 350 immigration candidates who had a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 346 points.

Through the Alberta Express Entry system, these candidates may be eligible to apply for a provincial nomination. If they receive a nomination, they will be a step closer to becoming a Canadian permanent residence. Under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), provincial nominees are able to apply for Canadian immigration to the federal government. Express Entry candidates who have provincial nominations get bumped into the top of the pool and will surely receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence. Earlier in January, Alberta released its new Accelerated Tech Pathway. With that, all eligible tech workers who are able to meet the criteria for the Alberta Express Entry system may also apply to be able to get their processing expedited.

Meanwhile, on January 27, 2022, Quebec held its latest round of draw and just recently released full details of the result. Through the Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) The Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration (MIFI) invited a total of 322 immigration candidates to apply for permanent selection. To receive an invite, candidates must have a profile in the province’s Arrima Expression of Interest system and must also have a score of at least 647 points and a valid job offer outside of the Montreal Metropolitan area.

This draw is Quebec’s second draw of the year and this makes the total number of the invited candidates so far this year to 834. In the previous year, Quebec invited a total of 3,564 immigration candidates to apply for permanent selection through the province’s Arrima draw.
