Manitoba Holds Its First Immigration Draw for 2022

Manitoba is managing the province’s immigration program through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) that supports immigration applications to the federal government. Given that the Canadian provinces do not have the power to give out permanent residency status, they can help an application by giving out provincial nominations. An applicant must register an Expression of Interest (EOI) in the MPNP pool to be able to receive a nomination from Manitoba.

Recently, Manitoba has started its year and held its first draw of the year. In its recent draw, the province invited a total of 443 immigration candidates to apply for provincial nomination. Manitoba Provincial Nomination (MPNP) sent out invitations through the three Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP). Below is the specific results of the invitations issued per program along with its minimum cutoff score according to Manitoba’s Expression of Interest (EOI) system:

  • International Education Stream – a total of 33 invitations sent having no score requirement
  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba – a total of 357 invitations sent having a minimum score requirement of 711 points.
  • Skilled Workers Overseas – a total of 53 invitations sent having a minimum score requirement of 711 points

Among these invitations, a total of 97 invitations were sent to the candidates in the Express Entry system.
