Canada Hold Its First Draw of 2022 and Invites 300 Plus Immigration Candidates
To start the year, Canada held its latest draw and invited a total of 392 Express Entry candidates to apply for permanent residence. On January 5, 2022, the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held its latest draw and only invited candidates from Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). In this recent draw, the IRCC set a Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS) cutoff score of 808 points. The required points are relatively high compared to the other invitations as the candidates who were invited received an additional 600 points that were automatically added to their score when they previously received a nomination.
Meanwhile, British Columbia held their first draw of the year on January 4, 2022, and invited a total of 102 tech workers to apply for provincial nomination. The invitations on this latest draw were issued through BC PNP Tech that is a stream under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP). Invited candidates of British Columbia’s tech draw need to meet the requirements of either one of British Columbia’s Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC categories, which are managed through the Skills and Immigration System (SIRS).
Invitations sent in this recent draw were from the International Graduate and Skilled Worker subcategories and a minimum provincial score of 80 points is needed by the candidates who received an invitation. In addition to this, all invited candidates are given 30 calendar days to apply for their nominations.
