British Columbia: Migrate to Canada without a Job Offer
To be able to apply under the International Post-Graduate category of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program, having a job offer is not required. Given that you are a graduate with a degree in science from any eligible institution in British Columbia, you’ll be able to get a Canadian permanent residence without obtaining a job offer and be eligible to apply in the Skills Immigration – International Post-Graduate category of the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
This category of the British Columbia Nominee Program (BC PNP) provides priority to all immigration candidates who have finished their master’s or doctorate degree in either of the following applied, natural, or health sciences programs:
- Physical Sciences
- Biological and Biometrical Science
- Agriculture
- Mathematics and Statistics
- Engineering
- Engineering and Technology
- Computer and Information Sciences and Support Service
- Health professions and related clinical sciences
- Natural resources conservation and research
For you to be able to qualify for this category, an application must be submitted to the BC PNP within the three years of the date shown on your official transcript. Meanwhile, for you to be eligible under the stream, you must demonstrate your intention and ability to work and live in British Columbia. This could be done through submission of your proof of work, proof of previous or current residence in the province, proof of study, and even proof of family ties who also live in British Columbia. In connection to this, another way to demonstrate your intention is to submit a description of the various steps you have taken to permanently settle in the province; like job hunting, looking for a place to live, or even involvement in the community.
Note that all candidates who wish to apply under the Skills Immigration – International Post-Graduate category do not need to have a profile in the federal Express Entry system for them to be eligible.
