Express Entry: Canada Holds Its Biggest PNP Draw Ever
Throughout 2021, the Immigration, Refugees, Citizenship and Canada (IRCC) has only been doing Express Entry draws that targeted immigration candidates from the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) as well as Canadian Experience Class (CEC). This is to allow the IRCC to focus on accepting immigration candidates who were most likely already living in the country.
December 10, 2021 – Canada held another Express and invited a total of 1,032 immigration candidates to apply for permanent residency. Through the nomination from the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), invited candidates received an additional 600 points to their base human capital score resulting in a high minimum cut-off score for this draw which is 698 points.
It was in 2015 when the Express Entry system was launched, and since then, only 38 PNP-only draws were held by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada. And most of these draws the IRCC sends out less than a thousand invitations, except from this draw and the one held on June 22 where they invited a total of 1,002 candidates. This recent draw is IRCC’s 7th PNP draw in a row, since September they have only been holding PNP draws. The previous Express Entry draw that was held by the IRCC resulted in a total of 613 invited candidates having a score of at least 737 points.
