BC and AB Release PNP Draw Details for Immigration
December 7, 2021 – British Columbia held another round of invites through Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) and invited a total of 318 immigration candidates. Through the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program, the province held two draws and invited eligible candidates from the Express Entry BC (EEBC) and Skills Immigration (SI) streams. All invitations were issued to the candidates from the International Graduate, Entry Level, and Semi-Skilled sub-categories of EEBC and SI streams.
Through the general draw, the province was able to invite 267 immigration candidates making it the majority of the invites. If they met the minimum score requirement between 71 and 100 depending on what program they are eligible for, these candidates will be able to receive an invite. The second draw that was held targeted candidates having an occupation that falls under either NOC 0621 or NOC 0631 to which resulted in a total of 51 invited candidates having a minimum score of 103 points across the board. To date, British Columbia has already issued more than 11,000 invitations through different PNP streams.
Meanwhile, Alberta has released the details of their Express Entry draw that was held on November 24, 2021, and as a result, the province was able to invite a total of 100 candidates to apply for provincial nomination. This recent draw was rather small considering that the majority of this year’s Alberta Nominee Program (AINP) was able to invite more than 200 immigration candidates at the same time. In addition to this, the required score for this draw is quite high for an Alberta draw; the province required a minimum score of 350 points. For this year, Alberta is allowed to issue 6,250 nomination certificates and to date, the province has already issued a total number of 6,094 nomination certificates. With that being said, this could be the reason for the small draw size since there are only a few nomination certificates left that they can issue.
