Several Canadian Provinces Conduct Rounds of PNP Invitation
November 9, 2021 – Through the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) the province invited a total of 200 Express Entry candidates having a score of at least 343 points to apply for provincial nomination. Since the round of invites resumed in January 2021, Alberta has already invited a total number of 6,359 Express Entry candidates to apply for provincial nomination. For 2021, Alberta is allowed to issue 6,250 nomination certificates, however, due to the exceeded number of certificates issued, the province might have finished issuing invitations for this year.
A few days after Alberta, British Columbia held their latest round of invites on November 23, 2021, and invited 357 immigration candidates through its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Alberta held two draws and invited candidates from the Express Entry BC (EEBC) and Skills Immigration (SI) streams through the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP). Candidates from the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, and Entry Level and Semi-Skilled sub-category of EEBC and SI streams were issued an invitation.
The majority of the said invitation went to the general draw inviting a total of 258 candidates given that they meet the minimum score requirement between 71 and 97 points depending on the program to which they are eligible. The second draw targeted candidates having an occupation under NOC 0621 or NOC 0631 to which resulted in a total of 99 sent invitations having a minimum score of 103 points across the board. So far this year, B.C. has already issued nearly 11,000 invitations through different BC PNP streams.
Lastly, on November 24, 2021, Canada held their latest draw and invited 613 Express Entry candidates to apply for provincial nomination. Previously, these candidates received nominations through Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) that automatically gave them an additional 600 points to which drove the minimum cut-off score for this latest draw to 737 points. To date, this is the 6th PNP-specific Express Entry draw held by the Immigration Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). In the previous draw, the IRCC invited a total of 775 immigration candidates having a score of at least 685 points.
