Ontario Holds Its Biggest 2021 PNP Draw
October 27, 2021 – Ontario held its latest draw and invited a total of 1,406 Express Entry candidates having work experience in one of the six tech occupations in the province. Candidates who may qualify for Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream were invited; one must first have a profile in the Express Entry system and must also have a Comprehensive Ranking System score between 455 and 467 points.
In addition to the aforementioned qualifications, candidates must also need to have at least one year of work experience in either one of the following occupations:
- Software engineers and designers (NOC 2173);
- Computer programmer and interactive media developers (NOC 2174); or
- Web designers and developers (NOC 2175).
- Computer and information systems managers (NOC 0213);
- Computer engineers (NOC 2147);
- Database analysts and data administrators (NOC 2172);
As mentioned by the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program, applications will be declined if a candidate won’t be able to demonstrate their work experience with either one of the mentioned occupations. For candidates having a foreign education, they must submit an Educational Credential Assessment to be verified by the OINP; this is to make sure that their education is equivalent to a Canadian bachelor’s degree or higher.
Invited candidates were given 45 calendar days for their Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) application to be submitted. In connection to this, all candidates who were able to receive the nomination from Ontario will automatically receive an additional 600 points that will be added to their overall score in the Express Entry system. These additional points will give the candidate a boost that will effectively guarantee a slot to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in a subsequent round of invitations.
