Nova Scotia Highlights Skilled Workers in Its Latest PNP Draw
October 11, 2021 – Nova Scotia held two draws and invited a grand total of 330 Express Entry candidates having skilled work experience, carpenters were among those skilled workers who were invited in this recent draw.
Candidates who have a job offer in Nova Scotia occupied the largest number of invites from the two draws, a total of 286 immigration candidates having at least one year of work experience in a skilled occupation was invited, also for a candidate to qualify, one must at least have 5 Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) in English. Meanwhile, a total of 44 carpenters having at least 2 years of skilled trade experience and a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 5 in English were invited through Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP). Both of the said draws were held under the Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities stream. All invited candidates were given until November 6, 2021, to apply for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
Listed below are the brief criteria for each draw for a candidate to be invited:
Skilled Workers:
- Have a Canadian high school credential or at least equivalent
- At least have one year of skilled work experience and must be related to the job
- Have a valid job offer from an employer in Nova Scotia; it must be a full-time skilled work in Nova Scotia that lasts at least a year after the issuance of the permanent resident visa
- Proof of language ability in English at CLB 5
- Apply on or before November 6, 2021, not later than 11:59 pm
Documents needed to provide along with the candidate’s application:
- Job offer stating your position and duties related to the job offer, NOC code of the position offered, annual salary, weekly hours, time span of the job offer, work location and if the position is unionized or not; if it is, a letter that indicated the unio9n concurrence must be attached.
- Copies of language test
- Proof of education
Carpenters:
- Have a primary occupation of a carpenter (NOC 7271).
- Have a Canadian Language Benchmark score of 5 or higher in English in all language abilities as demonstrated by providing your results from a language test approved by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada; and;
- Provide letters of reference from employers, as outlined in the application guide, to demonstrate that they have two or more years of skilled trades experience as a carpenter.
- Apply on or before November 6, 2021, not later than 11:59 pm
