Canada Invites 761 PNP Immigration Candidates Through The Express Entry
September 29, 2021 – Canada held another Express Entry draw and invited a total of 761 immigration candidates to apply for permanent residency. Previously, the invited have received a nomination through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) that automatically gave them an additional 600 points that were added to their base Express Entry score. With that, for a candidate to be eligible, one must need a score of at least 742 points to receive an invite.
A total of 521 immigration candidates having a score of at least 732 points were invited by the Immigration, Refugees, Citizenship, and Canada in their previous PNP draw; making this latest draw larger. However, unlike the previous draw, this latest draw requires a higher cutoff, this states that there are a lot of candidates who have a high score in the Provincial Nominee Class pool.
This year, more Express Entry candidates were invited by the IRCC to apply for permanent residency compared to previous years. IRCC has issued a total of 107,350 Invitations to Apply (ITA) through the Express Entry system in 2020. Three months before the year ends, the IRCC has already issued more than 108,000 invitations. When the IRCC invited all Canadian Express Entry Class (CEC) candidates in the pool last February 13, the number of ITA skyrocketed.
Since the beginning of 2021, the IRCC has only held draws for PNP and CEC due to minimum score cutoffs that have been going up and down. For every PNP draw, the required minimum score cutoff is relatively higher considering the candidates have received an additional 600 point reward through the nomination. While CEC draws tend to be lower, this is because all invited candidates are not competing with the other candidates who were eligible for other programs.
