Canada’s Parents and Grandparents Program is said to be a unique program from across the globe. This program gives a chance to all the families to reunite in Canada and provide them an equal opportunity to prosper in the country. To be able to attract, retain and integrate immigrants in Canada who undeniably contribute a big part of the country’s success, family reunification surely plays an important role.

Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), Marco E. L. Mendicino announced today that IRCC will invite a number of applicants for them to apply under the 2021 intake to build on the success of the Parents and Grandparents Program. A record-breaking 30,000 additional applications will be accepted by the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) that will surely give an opportunity for all Canadians and permanent residents to be able to reunite with their loved ones and bring them to Canada.

With the use of a random selection that was also used the previous years, starting today, September 20, 2021 – IRCC will send out invitations to all the prospect sponsors who have submitted their interest to sponsor their loved ones in 2020 and will last for two weeks.  A new Permanent Resident Digital Intake tool will be used by the invited applicants that make their application to be submitted electronically to apply for the PGP. Through this tool, Canada’s immigration system will be modernized just like what they have committed and be able to speed up as well as simplify their application process.

Due to the global pandemic that we are still facing today, many Canadian families surely face financial difficulties. With that, the IRCC will still continue to implement a more conducive income required to make sure that more people can qualify and be able to apply.
