PEI holds its scheduled PNP draw; invites more than a hundred immigration candidates
PEI’s Provincial Nominee Program Express Entry category is linked to the federal government’s Express Entry system, making it an enhanced type of PNP. A profile in the EE system is needed for a candidate to be considered in the stream. Applications for the three economic class immigration, namely; Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) were handled by the Express Entry. All eligible candidates get a score for their declared information such as work experience, education, age, and language proficiency in English and French through the scoring system called Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).
On September 16, 2021, the province of Prince Edward Island (PEI) held its scheduled monthly immigration draw and invited a total of 143 immigration candidates through their Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). A big percentage of the invitation sent were given to the candidates under Express Entry and Labor Impact, having a total of 129 invited immigration candidates; while the remaining 9 invitations were given to the candidates under Business Impact having at least 72 points.
Provincial Nominee Programs allow provinces and territories in Canada to determine immigration candidates who will be able to meet the needs of their labor market. To date, this will be PEI’s eighth draw making its total number of invitations sent since the start of 2021 to 1,337. The next draw for Prince Edward Island’s PNP is expected to be held on October 21, 2021.
