Alberta and Ontario hold PR draws; more than a thousand invites released
Alberta recently held its new draw for Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) and invited a total of 500 immigration candidates to apply for provincial nomination. Invited candidates were from the Express Entry system, and for them to be qualified, they must have a score of at least 300 points. With this draw, Alberta broke a new record following the two large draws that were held in August. It was in March 2019 when the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) last recorded a high number of invites having a total number of 473 invited immigration candidates.
The province is granted to issue 6,250 nomination certificates for 2021; and to date, Alberta has now already invited a total number of 4,507 Express Entry candidates to apply for their provincial nomination. Draws for Express Entry took a temporary break in the late months of 2020 and just resumed their invitation rounds in January 2021.
Meanwhile, on September 14, 2021, Ontario invited 691 international student graduates who have filed their Expression of Interest (EOI) to apply for provincial nomination. Specifically, 627 immigration candidates were invited for the Master’s Graduate stream, while the remaining 64 immigration candidate who may be qualified for the Ph.D. Graduate stream received an invite. Invited candidates must submit a profile through the Ontario’s Expression of Interest (EOI) system having the following score requirement:
- Ph.D. Graduate stream must have a score of at least 16 points
- Masters Graduate stream must have a score of at least 35 points
