Since February, the province has been doing two rounds of PNP invitations that were done separately; one general draw that targets retail and wholesale retail managers and restaurant and foodservice managers. Their second draw is for the candidates registered in the BC PNP Skills Immigration Registration System having the two said occupations, this is due to the high number of candidates registered in the system. The province aims to balance their needs in all parts of their labor market that makes them hold additional draws. To date, British Columbia has already 8,000 issued invitations through different BC PNP streams

Meanwhile, on September 1, 2021 a new draw for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) was held by the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada making this its 17th Express Entry draw for PNP. A number of 635 immigration candidates having a minimum cutoff score of 764 points were invited on the said draw. The cutoff score was relatively high for this draw due to the additional 600 points received by the candidates due to their provincial nomination. All candidates who meet the qualified requirements were given 60 days to apply for permanent residency.
