Provinces and Territories all over Canada Hold Provincial Nominee Draws

 In Blog

For the month of August alone, the immigration of Canada has already issued over 3,400 Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) invitations to apply. Almost every province, as well as territory, in Canada, handles its own Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) except for Quebec and Nunavut.  Having their own PNP operation and immigration programs give advantages to these provinces as it allows them to pick out people that fit their labor market.

Since the start of 2021, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) have been holding Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) Express Entry draw averagely every two weeks. IRCC has already conducted two Express Entry draws during the month of August that targeted PNP candidates. These draws resulted in 512 issued invitations to apply on August 14 while 463 invitations were issued on August 18.

Compared to the previous month, the number of issued invitations under the Express Entry was lower compared to the ones issued last June and July. The total number of issued invitations to apply through Canada’s Express Entry has now reached its peak and is recorded to be high. To date, IRCC has now issued over 100,000 invitations to apply (ITA).

Below is the monthly summary of Provincial N7ominee Program activities held within Canada:

Ontario

During the month of August, a total of five draws were held by Ontario through their Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) having the first draw on August 6 inviting candidates under the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker and Employer Job Offer: International Student streams. August 11, the province held their second draw for the In-Demand Skills stream under the province’s new intake system resulting in 48 invited immigration candidates. Meanwhile, the first round of invites for Masters Graduate and Ph.D. Graduate streams were held on August 18 resulting in 479 invited international student graduate applying for provincial nomination. Few days after the first draw, Ontario held their second draw for Masters stream on August 25 resulting in 326 invited immigration candidates having a score of at least 37 points.
