Various Canadian Provinces Hold New PNP Invitation Rounds
August 18, 2021 – Canada held another round of invites from the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) resulting in 463 immigration candidates applying for permanent residence. For a candidate to be invited, one must at least have a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 751 points. The required score is relatively high due to the provincial nomination that earned each candidate 600 points. The said invited candidates who met the required score will receive an invite if they have submitted their Express Entry profile before April 13, 2021.
Meanwhile, in Ontario, it has only been two weeks since the intake system has been reconstructed and now Ontario held its first round of invitations for the Provincial Nominee Program for Masters and Ph.D. graduate streams. This round has invited a total number of 463 provincial nominees. A candidate must have a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 751 points and must also have a nomination form and an Express Entry-linked PNP to receive an invite. In addition to this, candidates must have submitted their profiles before April 13, 2021.
Lastly, British Columbia also held not just one, but four draws under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) last August 17, 2021, inviting 435 immigration candidates through the said program. The province has been doing two separate rounds of draws for the PNP program per month; one draw for general and another draw that targets restaurant and foodservice managers and retail and wholesale retail managers. Due to the high number of candidates registered in the BC PNP Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) under the said two occupations, British Columbia held their second draw. Candidates from the Express Entry BC and Skills Immigration (SI) streams under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program received invites through the general draw.
