British Columbia Temporarily Closes Entrepreneur Immigration – Base Program
British Columbia announces that the province will temporarily pause all the intakes for new registrations for the Entrepreneur Immigration – Base category. However, the province’s temporary pause only affects the registrations under the Base category, while the Regional Plot, Strategic Plans, and all Skills Immigrations categories are still open.
Entrepreneur Immigration – Base category program helps aspiring immigrants to British Columbia who are ready and willing to invest and actively manage a valid business in the province.
As per the BC government, this temporary closure is for them to evaluate if the said program continues to meet BC’s objectives to support government priorities and of course their economic recovery subsequent to the impact of the global pandemic. This pause will also help the province prepare prospective applicants with the aim of having the greatest chance of success.
Also, the government ensures that all candidates who have already submitted their applications for this program will not be affected by the temporary suspension. Applicants’ profiles in the system will still remain active and continue to be processed until the final decision. However, the said applications have an expiry date and if the applicant does not receive an ITA prior to the date of expiry, a new registration cannot be submitted during the temporary pause.
