Major Canadian Provinces Held Various Immigration Draws Simultaneously
Last week, three major provinces in Canada released details for the recent draws inviting a number of candidates to apply for nomination in their province. Since the pandemic, Canada has only been doing draws under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). With this, different provinces held their respective draws and sent out invites to all qualified candidates.
The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program held their draw that resulted in having a total number of 181 invited candidates with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 301 points. Invited candidates are now eligible to apply for the provincial nominee program through the Alberta Express Entry stream.
Meanwhile, Prince Edward Island held its draw through the Expression of Interest system that took place last July 15, 2021. The recent draw incited 127 candidates through the province’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) and most of the invites were sent to eligible candidates for Express Entry and Labour Impact. The next draw was said to be held on August 19, 2021.
The last province that held its respective draw was British Columbia. The said draw took place last July 20, 2021, and the province was able to send out 383 invites to eligible candidates. Invitations were issued to those from Skilled Worker, International Graduate as well as Entry Level and Semi-Skilled sub-categories of the Skills Immigration (SI) and Express Entry BC (EEBC).
Prince Edward Island had temporarily paused its intake of new registrations to the Entrepreneur Immigration Base category. Applicants should not worry about this news as the candidates who have already submitted their application will not be affected by this temporary pause and their application will still remain active in the system and will still be processed. Only new registrations will be affected as they won’t be able to do so during this pause.
