Biggest Express Entry Draw Held for Provincial Nominee Program
June 9, 2021 – Canada recently held a new draw for Express Entry that had a total number of 940 invitations to apply (ITAs) for permanent residency.
The nomination was previously received by all the invited candidates of the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). The said candidates for PNP in the Express Entry will automatically get an additional 600 points to be added to their current score resulting in a high score cutoff of 711. Without the said nomination, candidates’ lowest-scoring rate will just be 111 points.
In accordance with administrative requirements, the cutoff time and date of the tie-break rule was issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) in any case where there’s a tie or not. In the new draw, only candidates who submitted their Express Entry profile before February 16, 2021 at 09:06:30 UTC were invited.
Canada invited 500 candidates on their previous PNP-only draw with the 713 point requirement. With this draw, invites were almost doubled in number.
IRCC has only held Express Entry draws that target candidates who are already in Canada since the start of 2021. This strategy aims to meet Immigration targets in Canada for the year, and another part is to avoid COVID-19 related travel restrictions as well as other service closures that surely affect international candidates.
