Mandatory Stay at Hotel for 14-Day Quarantine Ends for Fully Vaccinated Canadians and PRs
The Federal government is expected to announce the good news to Canadians along with permanent residents crossing the border into Canada that are already fully vaccinated. As such, they will no longer be needed to undergo a 14-day quarantine so long as they hold a negative COVID-19 test result.
Following the government’s multi-step plan in lifting the border restrictions, they are set to disclose some of the phases of the said plan. As part of the government’s Phase 1- starting in early July, all fully vaccinated Canadians and permanent residents must undergo a test upon entry to Canada and shall isolate at home until their results are released. Once the test result comes out negative they will no longer need to continue isolating. In connection to this, the Canadian government is expected to announce that all returning Canadians from overseas by air will no longer have to undergo mandatory hotel quarantine for as long as they are already fully vaccinated.
However, this news only pertains to Canadian citizens who have received both doses of COVID-19 vaccine and this does not apply to tourists. However, this plan is subject to change depending on the COVID-19 cases in the country.
